Matagorda County
Matagorda County is proud to offer a unique training opportunity for your group. The TEAM CHALLENGE Program is an experimental learning course that will challenge a person's self-esteem, communication skills, leadership strengths and ability to work as part of a team. What is the TEAM CHALLENGE Program? For many years, a variety of organizations, from youth groups to corporate management, have experienced the power and effectiveness of action-based learning through the use of TEAM CHALLENGE Programs. More than just "obstacles", a challenge course is a series of carefully designed, interactive events in which groups are able to directly address issues of leadership, teamwork, communication, outside-the-box thinking, diversity, risk, commitment, and more… all in a safe, contained environment and all in a relatively brief time span. The TEAM CHALLENGE Course may resemble an obstacle course but there are some important differences. The course does not require special athletic ability or physical prowess. It is not a competition of endurance or strength. Instead, it will focus on the cooperative effort from the groups. More than just games, they require teams to communicate, strategize, collaborate, delegate, lead, follow, respect differences, and pool resources to reach a common goal. The TEAM CHALLENGE Program is an experimental teambuilding program providing organizations with exciting teambuilding and Ropes Course experiences. Our instructors utilize state-of-the-art adventure learning techniques to deliver powerful and effective experiences to groups of all kinds. Who uses the course? The course is designed for everyone, youth and adult alike. An example of the variety of groups we have worked with include school groups, school staffs, student leaders, school sport teams, clubs, scouts, at-risk youth, families, business teams, office staff, church groups, police departments, etc… Can anyone participate? In case you have heard that other outdoor or adventure based programs may be uncomfortably demanding, it is important that you understand that our program is designed so that everyone can participate, regardless of size, or physical condition. At the TEAM CHALLENGE Program, we abide by the Challenge by Choice philosophy, which enables each participant to define their own level of challenge. If an individual does not feel comfortable with certain aspects of an activity, they can choose their own way to be involved. This might mean participating in the planning and strategizing, spotting, or belaying, and not necessarily the physical action. Utilizing the Challenge by Choice philosophy allows everyone to be involved and to challenge themselves, but at their own pace. Across the country, thousands of youth and adults alike participate in various different Challenge Programs. Each program may have different appearances, elements, and initiatives but the overall goal of each program is to bring individual strengths and weaknesses together, strengthen communication and teamwork skills, and learn how to work better together as a group. How will the TEAM CHALLENGE Program benefit you? By taking you out of your safe, normal environment, the TEAM CHALLENGE Program will provide a unique learning experience. The initiatives are designed to explore communication skills, group support, group cohesion, problem solving skills, cooperation, conflict management, trust, frustration, teamwork, risk taking, and comfort zones. The program will break down existing barriers, reward positive behavior, and build self-esteem all the while having FUN. We believe that people learn best by doing and that people working together can do extraordinary things. At the TEAM CHALLENGE Program.... Teamwork, Cooperation, Communication, and Trust become more than just words, they become action ! If you are interested in the TEAM CHALLENGE Program, please call our office at (979) 244-5820. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. " The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a persons determination….”
